ADHD Cleaning Checklist: A Room-by-Room Routine That Actually Sticks
A short, low-pressure cleaning checklist for ADHD brains, with 10-minute resets and a free printable weekly planner.
Why most cleaning lists fail
Long lists feel impossible, so nothing starts. An ADHD-friendly list is short, visible and split into tiny wins you can finish in one burst.
The 10-minute daily reset
- Set a timer for 10 minutes and play one song list
- Clear one surface: kitchen counter or desk
- Load or run the dishwasher
- Put away anything on the floor of one room
- Take out trash if the bin is over half full
A weekly rotation, one zone a day
- Monday: kitchen wipe-down
- Tuesday: bathroom sink and toilet
- Wednesday: laundry wash, dry, fold
- Thursday: floors in main rooms
- Friday: fridge clear-out before shopping
- Weekend: rest, or one catch-up task only
Make it visible
Print the list and tape it where you will see it. Tick boxes give a quick hit of progress, and a weekly planner page keeps cleaning next to everything else so it is not forgotten.
